Progress Lighting, was being left behind in the rise of ecommerce by a fear they would cannibalize the sales of their dealer network. In order to compete with the competition, Progress Lighting had to tap into the resources of internet marketing and sales to maintain its position as the world's largest lighting manufacturer.
Progress Lighting called on the experience of Interactive Ink and their marketing expertise. The objective was to make Progress Lighting a player in the world of ecommerce by designing an online storefront that utilized affiliate marketing.
Interactive Ink strategically designed a fully searchable online/digital catalog in which customers can search for specific products and local dealers by zip code. While customers cannot buy directly from Progress Lighting, the manufacturer, they can buy from premiere dealers carrying the desired product. With the help of Yahoo! Maps, customers are put in touch with the closest dealers whom they can specifically buy from online.
Interactive Ink has empowered the premiere dealers of Progress Lighting by driving customers to their store to purchase products. With little promotion, Progress Lighting's online sales soared to one million dollars in the first year.
